When you were a stranger

Can you unwind knowing somebody? The people claiming to know you now were strangers to you some day. Now they are not. They have acquired power to dismiss you, make fun of you, make fun of your thoughts, feelings and desires. This because someday you told them how they understood you better than anyone else. They told you you were worth to be their friend. You were nice. You had faults too but you were nice. Better than lot of the world out there. Then they tried working on your faults. You tried working on your faults. But it wasn’t enough. Now they know you weren’t as nice. YOU weren’t as worth it. And you can’t accept it like you accepted when they first told you,  you were nice. You miss their first belief in you. You try to believe them this time too. Try thinking you are not as nice not as worth it. It’s miserable. When you are done with not liking yourself, you start not liking them. Then you wish for times when you were nice. Good enough for them. Ready to be discovered again as better than lot of the world out there. When you were strangers.
